Annual Career Forum Helps Students Connect with Business Leaders
UMF’s College to Corporate Symposium recently brought Maine business leaders to campus to help give students an inside look at what they can expect as they transition from college to career. An annual
event sponsored by UMF’s Career Services office, the forum is an opportunity for students to connect with Maine employers and learn about current hiring practices, future industry trends and key ways to navigate today’s job landscape. Chris McKee, vice president of Geiger, 1992 UMF graduate and one of a panel of distinguished Maine business leaders at the event shared with the Sun Journal how impressed he was with the students’ ability to meet new people, network and ask questions. He noted that many successful business people are English majors with good writing skills and that education throughout one’s career is a key to their success.
