UMF Partnership Helps Student Interns Gain Skills and Career Experience

Hayley Smith-Rose Summer 2013

UMF’s new program to increase student’s experiential learning is yielding measurable success, according to a recent article in the Morning Sentinel. Only two years after its launch, the Partnership for Civic Advancement is seeing student internships triple. Celeste Branham, UMF vice president of Student and Community Services and director of the Partnership, sees the program as a way for students to “test career interests, to network and to gain skills.” UMF senior Hayley Rose-Smith interned at True Oldies 93.5 last summer and has accepted a job with Mountain Wireless, the station’s parent company.
