Students Get Home-Made Hats to Keep Out the Winter Chill
Students in UMF Professor Cathryn Wimett’s children’s literature class, were surprised at the beginning of the semester with a little something extra—home-made knit hats to keep out the winter chill. This isn’t something new for Wimett, who has been an educator for 44 years, 17 of those at UMF, but it’s something that she loves to do. According to a Sun Journal article, Wimett has found the time to make hats for her UMF students for the past five years. “As a teacher, it’s nice to be able to give my students something. It’s cold here and I love to be able to share something that will keep them warm,” said Wimett.
